The treatment
What is stem cell stretch mark repair?
Stretch marks form when the dermis tears under rapid stretching, leaving thin, irregular scars. They begin red or purple (striae rubra) and often fade to white (striae alba), but stay visible.
This program uses stem cell–based therapy to modulate inflammation, stimulate fresh collagen and elastin, and improve texture and colour match, as an adjunct to microneedling, RF or laser. For other scar types, see scar repair.
Candidates
Who it suits, and who should wait
Good candidates
- Stretch marks on the abdomen, hips or breasts after pregnancy
- Marks after weight loss or a growth spurt
- Early pink or purple striae, which respond best
- Mature white striae, for gradual improvement
Postpone treatment if
- You are pregnant
- You have an active skin infection
- You tend to form keloids (special evaluation needed)
- You have taken isotretinoin in the last 6 months

Safety
Safety & recovery
- Screening first. Pregnancy, active infection and isotretinoin in the last 6 months are checked; keloid tendency needs special evaluation.
- Downtime. Mild redness or swelling for 1–3 days; occasional flaking or bruising.
- Timeline. Early brightness can appear within weeks; collagen remodelling continues for months.
- Expectations. Stretch marks can be improved substantially but rarely disappear completely.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can stretch marks be removed completely?
Rarely. Most patients see marks that are softer, thinner and closer in colour to the surrounding skin.
Do old white stretch marks respond?
Yes, but more gradually than new red or purple marks. Combining with microneedling or laser helps.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 3–5, depending on how deep and how old the marks are.
Can I have this while breastfeeding?
Please discuss this at consultation; your physician will advise on timing.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Depth and energy settings are adjusted to minimise the risk of hyperpigmentation.
