The treatment
What is microneedling with a stem cell boost?
Traditional microneedling uses tiny, controlled micro-channels to stimulate collagen and improve texture. Here, a concentrated stem cell–derived booster (serum or exosomes) is applied immediately after the channels are made, carrying regenerative signals deeper into the skin.
The result is faster healing, more visible glow and finer texture than microneedling alone. For scarring, see also scar repair; for a platelet-based alternative, the PRP Fusion Facial.
Candidates
Who it suits, and who should wait
Good candidates
- Fine lines, enlarged pores and uneven texture
- Acne scars, post-inflammatory marks or mild pigment irregularity
- Dull, tired skin lacking bounce
- Patients wanting stronger results with less downtime than aggressive laser
Postpone treatment if
- You are pregnant
- You have an active skin infection
- You tend to form keloid scars
- You have taken isotretinoin in the last 6 months
Results
Benefits patients often notice

Refined pores
Smoother, tighter-looking skin.
Even tone
Brighter colour and more uniform pigment over weeks.
Softer scars

Options
Booster vs PRP microneedling
Both add growth factors to microneedling. They differ in where those factors come from.
| Stem cell–derived booster | PRP (platelet-rich plasma) | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Lab-prepared regenerative factors | Your own blood, spun on the day |
| Blood draw | Not needed | Required |
| Best for | Texture, pores, glow, scars | Texture and scars, for those preferring autologous products |
Safety
Safety & recovery
- Screening first. Pregnancy, active infection, keloid tendency and isotretinoin in the last 6 months are checked at consultation.
- Downtime. Mild redness or pinpoint bleeding, usually resolved within 1–3 days.
- Timeline. Glow within days; collagen-related change is reviewed at 8–12 weeks.
- Combined care. We coordinate with your dermatologist if laser or peels are planned.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
How is this different from PRP microneedling?
PRP uses your own blood plasma. Our stem cell–derived booster contains regenerative factors prepared under strict laboratory conditions, so no blood draw is needed.
Can I do it before an event?
Schedule it at least 5–7 days before a major event so any redness has settled.
How many sessions are needed?
Usually 3–5 sessions, then maintenance every 6–12 months.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Needle depth and aftercare are adjusted to minimise the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Does it hurt?
A topical anaesthetic is applied first, so most patients feel only light pressure or prickling.
